Elimination and exercise focused walk of 30-50 minutes, as per weather and dog/owner preference. Walk may include obedience and/or aerobic intensity intervals as desired by owner. (This is a great option for clients who prefer individual walks for the dogs in a multiple dog household.) Always fresh water, feed if requested. Bring in mail/newspaper. 2X per week light dry groom/ brush out. Brief play in backyard or relaxed play and petting indoors. Client log entry.

Ultimate Visit: $56.00, 2 dogs: $66.00 Extended Sessions are 90 minutes or more in duration. Serious Canine Conditioning! For dogs with high exercise requirements. Powerful walk/jog of @ 2.5 to 3.5 miles May utilize Hartwood Acres, Highland, Frick or Schenley Park’s more physically challenging and mentally stimulating trails; or secure a spacious, isolated, fenced public space. Vigorous play, long retrieves and obedience skills may be incorporated as directed by client. Cool down walk, thorough towel rub down and light groom. Client log entry. Your dog should appear contented and settled, and sleep very soundly the night following ‘an Ultimate’.

Initial Training Consultation: $90.00; 65 to 90 Minutes
Includes detailed discussion and needs assessment with owners about dog’s habits, lifestyle, personality, specific problems and targeting of owner goals. Family members will be asked to interact with, request any known basic obedience behaviors from pet and walk dog on lead to determine current family (pack) dynamic.. K-9 to 5 trainer may also handle and elicit obedience responses from dog during assessment. A plan of action will be discussed. Consult customarily 60 to 90 minutes in duration.

1a. Temperament Testing: $19.00
In certain circumstances (aggression/biting or extreme fearfulness) I may ask a client’s permission to perform an abbreviated Temperament Test on presenting dog. The Temperament Test will ascertain bite threshold, touch and sound sensitivity, proclivity toward object and resource guarding and prognosis for rehabilitation.

Basic Obedience Training Session: $39.00; No less than 30 minutes.
Training may include both owner and dog, or dog may work exclusively with K-9 to 5 trainer. Obedience work will focus on owner defined goals of basic obedience training or brush-up, or problem-focused behavior management.

Extended Obedience Training Session: $60.00; 55 to 65 minutes.
Training for owner and dog together. May include outdoor handling instruction and distraction work, basic private in-home obedience instruction with family members and/or problem focused behavior management utilizing family participation.

Obedience Brush-Up Session: $42.00; 40 to 50 Minutes
For dogs who have been obedience trained to the ‘basic’ level or better. Work may be implemented with, or without owner present. Intervention may be problem focused, or an obedience refresher.

Puppy Training and Temperament Shaping Session: $52.00; 45 Minutes or more
For puppies 8 weeks of age and older. Focusing on appropriate play behaviors, bite inhibition, housebreaking, leash manners, household etiquette, crate training, rudimentary human and canine socialization, appropriate separation responses and basic age appropriate obedience skills and commands. May also include discussion, feedback from and training for owner/client.

Problem Focused Training and Temperament Shaping Session: $72.00; 60 Minutes
For clients and their adult dogs who present with a particular problem or cluster of behaviors they wish to extinguish, redirect or otherwise ameliorate.

Problem Focused “Red Alert” Training and Temperament Shaping Session: $95.00 @ 40 to 60 Minutes as per dog’s tolerance threshold.
For clients and their adult dogs, and/or puppies who display earnest, aggressive behavior, and/or who have directed bites toward humans and/or other dogs under any number of circumstances. Training may involve one, or multi disciplinary training methodologies, to be determined during the Initial Evaluation and Temperament Test and agreed upon with the (human) client.
